Your chart is computed with the Swiss Ephemeris (the reference for astrological calculation), then projected onto the globe: a line joins every place where a planet sat exactly on one of the chart's angles at your moment of birth. Distances to the lines are measured in real kilometres.
A map decides nothing: it describes the colour a place gives your energy. Test a line on a stay before planning anything bigger.
