How it is computed

Your chart is computed with the Swiss Ephemeris (the reference for astrological calculation), then projected onto the globe: a line joins every place where a planet sat exactly on one of the chart's angles at the moment of your birth. Distances to the lines are measured in real kilometers.

A map decides nothing: it describes the color a place gives your energy. Test a line during a stay before planning anything bigger.
